Letter from the President

The mission of Downtown Topeka, Inc. (DTI) is to encourage the growth of business, governmental services and cultural entertainment in the heart of Topeka and Shawnee County, and to be the leading advocate on issues that affect the economic well-being of our members.

Welcome to the DTI Web site. I invite you to learn about our organization and our community as you navigate through our Web site. DTI was founded in 1964 by a small group of merchants concerned about the future vitality of downtown Topeka. Today, nearly four decades later, DTI and its members continue to promote and enhance the economic vitality of Topeka.

DTI is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who share a passion for Topeka and for being involved in our community. The opportunities for involvement in DTI are as diverse as our membership, which includes over 300 individuals. Members have opportunities to serve on the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and various task forces and ad hoc committees. Our members also are able to build relationships with other members at a variety of our monthly and annual events.

Our talented, knowledgeable staff is eager to assist our members and meet their needs.
